PROPERTIES:
Empenthrin has a very high vapor pressure at normal temperature and has strong poisoning action to insects. As a fumigant, it is used, heated or not, for controlling mosquitoes, flies and other pests. It also substitutes for camphor balls to preserve textiles.

Acute oral LD50 to female rats > 3500 mg/kg; to male rats > 5000 mg/kg; to mice > 3500 mg/kg.
Acute dermal LD50 to rats > 5000mg/kg.
Inhalation: LC50 (4 h) for rats > 4610 mg/m3.
